Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-24

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by websites you visit. They let a site remember preferences, keep you signed in, understand how the site is used, and — with your consent — deliver relevant content. This page describes what SC Codeworks uses on www.sccodeworks.com and how you can change your choices.

The three categories we use

1. Essential (always on)

Required for the site to work. These cannot be switched off. Examples:

  • scc_consent — records the categories you've allowed (1 year).
  • Session cookies from form submissions to remember your entries during a single visit.
  • Load-balancing / security cookies from our hosting provider.

2. Analytics (optional — off by default)

Help us understand which pages are useful and where visitors get stuck. We only load these after you allow the Analytics category. Examples:

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) — aggregate page views, traffic sources, session duration.
  • ConX first-party cookies (conx_cid, conx_anon) — our own analytics stack. Links a newsletter click or an anonymous visit to later actions on the site so we can measure which content drives real interest. Never sold or shared with third parties.

3. Marketing (optional — off by default)

Let us measure the effectiveness of paid campaigns and, in some cases, tailor advertising to you. We only load these after you allow the Marketing category. Examples:

  • Google Ads (AW-16906051021) — conversion tracking for search ads.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag (_linkedin_partner_id) — conversion tracking for LinkedIn campaigns.
  • Meta Pixel — Facebook / Instagram conversion tracking, when enabled.

How you can change your choices

Visit our preference center at any time to change which categories you allow. Your choice is stored in an essential first-party cookie (scc_consent) for one year and persists across visits.

Signals we honor automatically

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (Sec-GPC) header, we treat that as an automatic opt-out of Analytics and Marketing categories — no banner shown, no tracking loaded. We honor the older Do Not Track header the same way.

Regional coverage

This policy applies to visitors from every region — GDPR (EU/EEA/UK), CCPA / CPRA (California), CPA (Colorado), and elsewhere. The default posture is opt-in for both Analytics and Marketing: we don't load any non-essential tracker until you explicitly allow it (or until a signed regional contract with a customer allows a different posture in a testing environment).
